*A retelling for children, based on **Bahá'í Chronicles**.*
1 / 7
In the early days of a brand-new Faith, the Báb chose a small group of His very first followers. They were called the Letters of the Living.
2 / 7
Among them was a brave man named Mullá Ḥusayn. And the very second one the Báb chose was Mullá Ḥusayn's own younger brother — Mírzá Muhammad Hasan.

Imagine being the little brother of someone so well-known. You might want to stay home where it was safe and let your big brother go off and do the hard things. But that is not what Mírzá Muhammad Hasan chose. When his brother set out to travel from place to place, telling people the good news of the Báb, the younger brother went too. He stayed right by his brother's side, mile after mile, town after town.

The road was not easy, and it grew harder still. There came a time of great trouble at a place called Shaykh Tabarsí, where the friends of the Báb faced terrible danger. Mírzá Muhammad Hasan did not run away. He stood with the others, and in the very same battle where his beloved brother gave his life, the younger brother was badly hurt. Some say that afterward he became a leader of the friends himself, and that he too gave everything he had — his whole life — for what he believed.
5 / 7
Mírzá Muhammad Hasan could have let his famous brother do all the work. Instead he chose to serve, quietly and faithfully, all the way to the end. Sometimes the bravest thing of all is simply to stay — to stand beside the ones we love when things are hard, and to keep on serving even when it costs us a great deal.
