A Convention for Racial Unity

Agnes Parsons became a fine speaker about the Faith and always had an invitation for traveling teachers to give talks in her home. During her second pilgrimage in 1920, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá told her that she should organize a convention “for unity of the colored and white races.” For a woman of her social standing to promote the unity of the black and the white races was tradition-breaking.
