In August 1868 Nabíl-i-A'ẓam and a Christian physician named Fáris, prisoners in Alexandria, learned that Bahá'u'lláh was on a ship within sight of their prison. They could not reach Him, so a young watchmaker carried their letters out, came into His presence, and returned saying, "By God! I saw the Father of Christ."
